On Thursday July 9th CYC hosted the first NBYA 420 regatta of the season. Mike Marshall, coach of the CYC 420 racing class organized 16 CYC racers to race in all 8 of the CYC 420's- a major feat considering many of our sailors had less than 5 days of sailing time in the boats and many are completely new to racing 420's.

There were 48 boats from Yacht Clubs all over Narragansett Bay. Priscilla Szneke and Cory Sertl (Regatta Chair) functioned as mark boats and were ably assisted by parent volunteers, Luke Largess and Jim Breyer. Tom Swift and Megan Konopka helped Rob Salk (Principal Race Officer) on the Committee Boat with shoreside support from Joan Swift, Elizabeth Gowell and Mary Waddington.

Six races were run in Potter Cove in a chilly Northerly. CYC sailors included: Drew Waddington, Billy van der Wal, Caroline Lippincott, Anna Vetter, Cyrus Nassikas, Islay Petrie, Rachel Breyer, Julia Gowell, Katja Sertl, Ailsa Petrie, Nick Sertl, Victoria Allen, Jack Cohen, Jack Largess, Eldridge Roppolo and Ben Swift.
