If you have questions about creating an account, or navigating the site please contact Rob Parker, Leah Kenney, or Suzanne Bickford.

The court usage policies and house rules outlined below have been established by the CYC Tennis Committee.

Courts are open 8:30 am through sundown during the season. Courts 7 and 8 are open at 8:00 am for singles play on weekdays.

Court maintenance, which includes sweeping and watering, occurs daily from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm.  In addition, members may sweep courts, if they choose, before or after play.

  • Prior to play, two members must be present to sign for a court
  • All guests must be signed in before play
  • Two courts will be available for Singles play (on a first-come, first-serve basis) before 10:00am, otherwise doubles play has preference over singles until 10:00am
  • During peak usage times, play should be limited to 1-1/2 hour for doubles and 1 hour play for singles
  • Adults have preference over juniors until 10:00am
  • Courts 5 - 8 will be used for Junior clinics Monday - Friday starting at 10:00 am
  • Courts are closed when posted
  • Two courts will always be available for adult members during junior tennis clinics
  • The Director of Racquets has priority and may reserve Court 8 for lessons from 8:30 am until closing any day of the week, excluding extraordinary circumstance, such as during tournaments or other instances where all courts are needed for a pre-planned special event.

  • All Players of Tennis and Platform Tennis are required to abide by the posted rules and policies.
  • Tennis players are required to wear predominantly white attire.
  • Cell phone use is prohibited on the tennis and platform courts and in the tennis hut. Please limit cell phone use to the parking lot.
  • No dogs are allowed on the premises.
  • Membership numbers must be clearly written when making purchases on sign out sheets. Please use your correct member number.

Our staff is dedicated to preserving the quality of the courts- this is the result of hard work from our staff and the ability to do maintenance mid-day and in the evenings. We will be doing maintenance from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm daily and in the evenings at approximately 7:00 pm.  For those members who enjoy playing late in the evenings, we will do our best to accommodate by finishing all the other courts first. If at that point, you would prefer to keep playing and sweep your own court when finished, we will gladly allow you to do so, we just want to warn you that the sprinklers are set to run at 8:30 pm sharp. Thanks for your help and consideration.

Due to negative impact of late cancellations and last minute changes for private lessons and clinics, the tennis staff must strictly enforce late cancellation policies.
  • Any cancellations or changes for the junior clinics must be made no later than 5:00 pm on the Friday prior to the clinic.
  • Any cancellations or changes to private lessons must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
  • Cancellations can be emailed to or by calling 423-9915 and speaking to a staff member.

Please drive slowly and abide by all posted speed and traffic signs coming to and going from the courts. The posted speed limit in the Shoreby Hill neighborhood is 15 mph.

The tennis staff is not responsible for supervising children while parents play tennis.
