Dutch Island Kayak Trip
Saturday, August 3 

It's time to dust off your kayak and go explore some of our close-by islands. Join us on Saturday, August 3 at 11 am and bring your lunch for a paddle to Dutch Island. Canoes, paddle boards and kayaks are welcome!

Launching place will be at the beach at the west end of Maple Street (you will see kayak racks there). Parking is available on Maple and Marine Street. We plan on paddling to the Southern end of Dutch Island and will leave around 3 pm. Don't forget your lunch and drinks!

Commodore Jeff Cook will guide paddlers in his power boat Living The Dream. If the weather is bad we will cancel at 10 am, the day of.

Rose Island Kayak Trip
Saturday, August 24

Meet at CYC at 11 am, bring your lunch and paddle to Rose Island. For $10, take a self guided tour -- most of the island will be accessible for exploring!

Rental Information

Two Ocean Kayak "Frenzy" sit-on-tops and three Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP's) are available for members to rent from early Spring through Columbus Day, for the 2017 season.  Located on the racks, they are stenciled with 'CYC' in black.

Members must sign-out the equipment prior to taking the equipment out on the water and sign it back in upon return.  The registration book is located under the stairs next to the Launch Room.  Paddles are mounted on the wall above the registration book.

 

  • Members must sign a damage waiver (once per season, located in the back of the registration book)

  • Members must provide & wear their own Personal Flotation Device (PFD). 

  • Minimum age is 18 years. 

  • Parents may sign a waiver for their 16 and 17 year old minors. 

  • Members are responsible for lost or damaged equipment.

  • Rentals are $10/hour, (max 3 hrs) billed in 30 minute increments.

  • Paddling area is Newport Bridge to Dumplings, on Jamestown side of Narragansett Bay.

  • Hours are daily, from sunrise to sunset.

  • Please attach the end of the SUP leash to your ankle before you get on the Board. This keeps the board from floating too far away should you fall off.

Kayaks and SUPs may not be transported off the property for use elsewhere via car, boat or other means.  They must be launched down the boat ramp at CYC.  Thank you.
